The name Warda was inspired by a friend of Hélène’s family, whose name means “flower” or “rose” in Arabic. Hélène, Lara’s sister, shared this story, giving the cookie its poetic and evocative name. This cookie was gifted for Lara’s birthday; she was among the first to taste and love it, bringing to life a recipe that had long been maturing in Martha’s mind.
